A FEMALE staff member at a Wokingham borough school has been remanded in custody after being charges 19 counts of abuse of trust offences under the Sexual Offences Act.

The 41-year-old appeared at Reading Magistrates' Court today (Monday). The charges relate to three alleged victims.

She is also charged with one count of perverting the course of justice. She was remanded in custody to appear at Reading Crown Court on July 2.

Police have not named the school where she works but said she was not a teacher. She was suspended from her employment to allow any investigations to be carried out and police say they are continuing to work closely with the school and the local authority.
