AN EVENING soirée has raised £6,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The charity's Windsor Area Committee hosted the evening of performances at Dorney Lake, which made a record amount of money on Wednesday last week.

James Clark, chairman of the branch, said: "We would like to thank all of our supporters, performers and organisers for participating in this hugely successful evening raising a record sum for our charity."

The soirée included a meal, raffle and entertainment from the Guildford School of Acting Singers.
