POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery in Burnham.
A cash delivery vehicle was robbed by two armed men just after 9pm yesterday (June 7).
Two guards were forced inside the Nationwide building society, High Street, and a large amount of cash was stolen in a cassette box.
Burnham CID Det Con Gareth Nicholson said: "Both guards were unhurt but were left very shaken by the incident.
"We believe that the offenders had a gun and that they locked the guards in the bank before leaving the area.
"I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and witnessed anyone acting suspiciously either before or immediately after the incident."
Anyone with any information should contact Det Con Nicholson on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
