Fire crew fights rubbish blaze

A PILE of rubbish was set alight in Upper Basildon last night.

A crew from Dee Road fire station went to the blaze in woodland in Knapp's Wood at 9pm. The heap of rubbish, which was a couple of metres wide, was ablaze and firefighters spent an hour at the scene dealing with the incident but managed to prevent it spreading to nearby trees.
