Fake cops break into Langley home

Print | Email

BURGLARS posing as police officers broke into a house in Langley but escaped with nothing.

The men entered the home of an elderly man in Humber Way at about 7.30pm on Monday, March 8.

The resident, who is in his eighties, challenged the intruders but they produced a fake police warrant card and claimed to be detectives from CID.

While one of the men distracted the victim by leading him into the kitchen, the other man searched the bedroom.

The elderly man again challenged the pair who then left by the back door.

Nothing is believed to have been stolen but police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Both men are white, one is about 20 years old and the other in his forties.

Anyone with information can call Det Con Charlotte Taylor on 0845 8 505 505 or Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
