Police patrols combat crime after escalating violence
Police have reported no serious incidents following fears that violence was escalating in Slough.
A police spokeswoman said: "The weekend just gone, did see an increase in policing due to the recent disorder. However, it is worth noting that it passed with very few concerns for police although we will continue to monitor the situation and deal with any issues should they come to light."
Escalating violence between rival teenage gangs forced authorities to scrap the popular Saturday Sensations disco at Absolute Ice Arena and a charity gig at The West Wing Arts Centre, Stoke Road.
The decision was made following discussions between Thames Valley Police and Slough Borough Council after a recent spate of violence from out-of-town thugs.
