ENTERPRISING: John Salako visit enterprising students at Charters School
MINI Alan Sugars immersed themselves into the world of business as part of a school competition.
Year 9 pupils at Charters School are taking part in a Young Apprentice competition where 32 teams will be narrowed down to one winning team throughout this year.
The students battled it out in order to become one of the most successful competitors in the school's answer to the popular TV programme The Apprentice by producing a sales pitch for a new sporting or fitness product.
The teams presented their products to a panel of local and national experts including ex-international footballer John Salako, Charters Leisure Centre fitness coaches, marketing staff from 3M and Eldon Wood from Trixter UK.
John Salako said: "It's been a fantastic day working with the Charters School pupils.
"They applied themselves in an enthusiastic and positive manner while brainstorming their ideas." The pupils split their team up and gave each other roles including project manager, finance expert and researchers.
