Hats off for helping Haiti

WACKY and creative hats were donned by pupils and teachers to raise money for the Haiti appeal.

Schoolchildren at Meadow Vale Primary School in Priestwood raised over £460 by donating any amount to wear a hat for the day on Monday.

The money raised will go to the national Haiti relief fund to help the tens of thousands of people devastated by the earthquake earlier this month.

Headteacher at the Moordale Avenue school, Nigel Duncan said: "The message has been re-enforced for all our children that they can think of others who are less fortunate than themselves."
