The Wilder family with the truck in 1933.
A MILK lorry used in the 1930s is causing its owner a truckload of worry.
The 1928 International Harvester is owned by Nigel Stratton, whose father Geoff originally got hold of it and restored it in the 1970s, but some of its history remains murky.
It was definitely used to deliver milk in Pangbourne during the Second World War, and was at one stage owned by John Wilder who ran a foundry in Yield Hall Lane, Reading and also used by his brother Walter who ran a car showroom in Wallingford.
It was used by the BBC in the 1980s in the Brideshead Revisited series. Mr Stratton, of Milton Keynes, a mechanical engineer who repairs old vehicles in his spare time, said: "I am trying to find out any history of the lorry and its travels.
The restored vehicle, gleaming in the sunlight.
"A key part that is missing from its history is its original registration, as it unfortunately has now been registered with a 1940s registration.
"There was no trace of the numberplate with the lorry when my father acquired it."
