Revised plans for what could become the new southern gateway for workers and football fans alik, have been submitted to Reading Borough Council and West Berkshire Council.

The proposals would see two platforms and a four-storey car park to the west of the business park and Madejski Stadium, giving access to the site from the Basingstoke line.

Nicole Coulson, lifestyle manager at Green Park, said: “We will be delighted if plans get approved for the station at Green Park. It is a major improvement to transport in south Reading. This service linking Green Park to the national network will make a massive difference to our ever growing community.”

Previous plans were submitted in 2007 but construction did not begin in time.

Reading Borough Council will consider the plans at the next planning meeting on April 8.
