A WARNING was issued to people planning barbecues after firefighters were called out to a blaze in Tilehurst last night.
The crew from Dee Road were called to Linnet Close at 8.10pm and spent 20 minutes making the area safe after the barbecue’s supply hose caught fire.
The homeowners isolated the cylinder to stop the blaze spreading and no one was injured.
Crew manager Simon Abbott said: “Make sure you check your barbecues are in serviceable order and that you are able to isolate the cylinder should anything untoward happen.”
