A VAN was ripped open after crashing into a bridge.
The contents of the van spilt all over Loddon Bridge Road near The George pub between Earley and Woodley after the crash just after 6pm last night (Thursday).
One eyewitness, Ian Jeffery, said: "Pub-goers enjoying the sun were interrupted by a crash that shock the tables. Fearing catastrophe, a crowd rushed out to see what had happened and were greeted by a sight like something out of Police, Camera, Action!"
The road was closed while the white WVC Self-Drive Hire van was recovered, and reopened by 7.30pm.
Police spokesman David Paull said: 'The crash ripped the top off the van, but there were no injuries.'
The driver has been reported for careless driving.
