A DISTINCTIVE 'handkerchief tree' has been planted to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
The tree is also known as the 'dove tree' for its large, white flowers in May, and has been planted by housing association Bracknell Forest Homes in Priestwood.
Caroline Titley, chief executive at the housing association, said: "This is a huge year for the country.
"We've seen and contributed to many local celebrations and community events marking this great milestone and with this tree we hope to leave a lasting legacy for residents and visitors to enjoy for many years to come.
"It's planted at one of our open spaces which will be visible for residents and visitors travelling on the Wokingham Road B3408 to enjoy."
The tree is near to Campion House and Bryony House flats in Jock's Lane. It was unveiled on Tuesday last week at a ceremony.
