A VAN crashed into four parked cars after going "airborne" on a tight road in Wokingham.

Wokingham fire station confirmed that the van went airborne before propelling into four parked cars along the packed residential street.

The road itself, Langborough Road, is notorious for being slim, with usually no less than four or five parked cars on each side of the road at any given time.

The van was heading down the road and gained some air before smashing into a Fiat 500, a Volkswagen Golf, a Vauxhall Astra and an Audi A3.

This incident comes just weeks after the main road out of town towards Tesco and the Peaguot garage was closed, leaving residents to try and find de-tours around the town.

No one was hurt in the incident and police reopened the road around 7.30pm.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue service released the following statement: "At 6.04pm on Sunday, 13 August, Thames Valley Fire Control Service received reports of a road traffic collision involving four cars at Langborough Road, Wokingham.

"A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Wokingham Fire Station was sent to the scene.

"A vehicle had collided with several stationary cars. No people were trapped but firefighters assisted in making the scene safe.

"The crew were on scene for about 40 minutes."
