A man's body has been discovered on the M3 motorway, with commuters facing hours of delays.
It is believed that the body had been on the road for a number of hours before being discovered.
The road had been closed overnight for maintenance, and therefore the body wasn't found until 4:50am this morning, at which point the road was closed.
The road was closed in both directions, and only recently the road was reopened in both directions.
The incident occurred at Junction 3 at Lightwater, and there were reports of drivers slowing to try and look at the scene.
A Surrey Police spokesperson said: "The death is not thought to be suspicious. The man has yet to be formally identified."
Drivers have been advised to avoid the area at all costs as traffic eases through the morning.
Highways England have warned that it could take until 10:45am for the incident to be cleared completely.
Despite the man not being formally identified at this time, his family has been informed.
