IMMERSERIVE video projections and speed games are amongst the features of Coral Reef's five new flumes.

With the £13m build due to open in Birch Hill in September, more and more details of the complex's facilities are coming to the service.

While exact details of individual flumes are not yet ready for public consumption, today it was announced that riders will be able to customise their slide experience with colour and sound shows, lasers and a 360 video projection.

Other features include games based on speed and hitting touch targets, and an action camera that will capture sliders from the inside of the tube.

The new, high tech slide announcement comes in addition to the previously revealed “super crater" design, in which people are spun round before being flung in a different direction, and a “double crazy cone”.Bracknell News:

The super crater is taking shape.

Councillor Iain McCracken, executive member for culture, corporate services and public protection, said: “We have always said the new waterslides coming to Coral Reef will be the most technologically advanced available and great fun. They will offer a 21st century experience for guests of all ages who will have a wealth of choice on how they customise their ride experience.

“It is great to see the new waterslides now being installed, curving their way up from the main pool area towards the new flume tower.

“We are hugely looking forward to welcoming visitors back to Coral Reef Waterworld when it reopens later this year.”

A recruitment campaign is ongoing to staff the new Coral Reef Waterworld when it reopens. Lifeguard, housekeeping and catering roles are still available to apply for.
