UP AND coming fashion designers from a Sunninghill school have won a place in the final of the Young Fashion Designer UK competition.
GCSE students Iona Periton and A Level student Justine DeBiase study textiles at The Marist school.
Thanks to the quality of cut and artistic vision of Iona's 1950's inspired swim wear and Justine's retro jacket, made with David Bowie in mind, the pair were selected to present their work to a panel of judges.
On July 1 at Kent College in Pembury stylist Sarah Delaney, designer Sue Mee Maudsley and fashion psychologist Kate Nightingale will chose their favourite designs from the selected bunch.

Following the announcement, Sheena Bowley, head of textiles at The Marist, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for both Iona and Justine to be announced as finalists for the Young Fashion Designer UK – a first for The Marist to have two finalists in this national competition.
"Receiving this recognition helps demonstrate the high quality of design work produced by our senior students at The Marist and we wish them all the best for the upcoming South Centre Finals in July.”
The Young Fashion Designer UK competition was established in 2010.
