COMMUTERS can expect severe delays on the journey home tonight due to a serious incident.
It has happened at a station between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction and is affecting all services in and out of the capital, including those to Reading and Wokingham.
A National Rail spokesman said: "Emergency services are dealing with an incident between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction. This is causing major disruption to trains between these stations.
"Trains may be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 60 minutes. This is expected to continue until the end of service.
"Customer Advice: Please be aware that the evening peak will be very busy. You may want to consider using alternative routes or taking a later train from London Waterloo. Queuing systems will be put in place at stations affected.
"West of England trains will start from and terminate at Basingstoke. Other alterations will be made as required You may use your ticket on:
Southern on reasonable routes
Great Western Railway between Exeter and London Paddington, Basingstoke and Reading, Wokingham and Guildford London Underground between London and Wimbledon / Morden
London Buses on reasonable routes in South West London Thameslink between Elephant & Castle and Wimbledon"
