The Royals player paid a visit to the children at Southcote Youth and Community Centre in Coronation Square with a special talk about fighting discrimination.

Nathaniel, currently on loan to Reading from Chelsea FC, was joined by Paul Mortimer from charity Kick It Out.

More than 20 children and teenagers turned out for the session which saw Nathaniel speak about his experiences through his role as one of the charity’s 'Next 20’ ambassadors.

The initiative involves 20 young football stars from the Premier League, Football League and Women’s Super League (WSL) spreading key messages of equality and inclusion.

Nathaniel said: “The Kick It Out workshop was really good. I think it’s always important to try and teach the young people what’s happening when it comes to discrimination in football.

“As a young person myself and as someone who has experienced racism, I think it is best for me to pass on my knowledge to young people.

“The 'Next 20’ is a great campaign because we as ambassadors can come out to events like this, speak to young people, and affect their lives for the better.”

The England Under-21 international joined the group in discussing racism, sexism and homophobia.

Paul Mortimer, of Kick It Out, said: “It was an enjoyable workshop at Southcote Youth and Community Centre, with the young people in attendance fully participating in the workshop Kick It Out delivered.

“Nathaniel was brilliant with the young people at the session.

“He is a terrific ambassador for our 'Next 20’ initiative.”
