A SUMMER jamboree is set to take place in Sandhurst next week.

The town council's annual Summer of Fun event will take place at the Memorial Park on Thursday, August 9 between 11am and 3pm.

The free event is co-organised between the town council and local town and parish councils in the area, giving residents a fun day for all the family to enjoy in, what will hopefully be, glorious sunshine.

Activities available on the day will include a climbing wall, crazy golf, bubble football and bungee runs. Some activities may carry a small charge.

Falconry displays and reptile exhibitions will also take place throughout the day.

Cllr John Porter, Chairman of the Leisure Committee at Sandhurst Town Council, said: “We’ve had a remarkable summer so far with high temperatures and great opportunities for Sandhurst residents to get out and enjoy all the beautiful spaces that our town has to offer.

“The annual ‘Summer of Fun’ event promises to be a brilliant day out for all the family. When else can you expect to see everything from birds of prey to reptiles to climbing walls and crazy golf? Entry to the event will be free along with many of the activities, and it’s open to everyone – so come along!

“We’re lucky to live in not only a community that spends time together and looks after one another, but in a place which has beautiful green spaces and parks. We’d encourage as many of you as possible to pop along to this event and have a great day.”
