A CHILDREN'S charity celebrated its 35th birthday with a glittering party and VIP guests.
Dingley's Promise, which supports young children with additional needs and disabilities across Berkshire, held a summer party on Thursday, July 12 to mark the occasion with a packed guest list including dignitaries, charity patrons and television celebrities.
Hosted by patrons Naomi and Christopher Khoo DL, the party was held in the spectacular grounds of Sir Hugh and Lady Catherine Stevenson's home in Ascot.
Guests in attendance included individual supporters and donors, local business owners and local Mayors and councillors, as well as families who had been supported by the charity over the years.
Chris Burnell, a parent of a child who attended one of Dingley's Promise's centres, spoke of the huge impact the charity had had on his son Spencer, who was diagnosed with autism, sensory processing disorder and hypermobility.
He said: "Before being introduced to Dingley's Promise, our family felt completely lost and were totally reclusive, but the charity provided us with a shelter, and Spencer the nourishment he needed to flourish."
Special guest, children’s TV legend Timmy Mallet, was on hand to cut the huge Dingley Bear shaped cake.
He said: “It has been a real inspiration to hear of the work Dingley’s Promise does."
