THE MANAGEMENT company for three of Bracknell's main leisure attractions is taking part in Drowning Prevention Week 2018.
Everyone Active, which runs the Bracknell Leisure Centre, Downshire Golf Complex, and Coral Reef, is taking extra provisions to ensure staff know how to prevent drowning.
National drowning week runs from June 15-25, and will see extra water safety activity flood the UK.
Statistics show that more than 700 people drown in the UK and Ireland every year, and to help combat this, Everyone Active has qualified 100 teachers in a water safety qualification.
During Drowning Prevention Week, teachers will be delivering these water safety sessions to thousands of school children across the country.
Jacqui Tillman, Head of Swimming at Everyone Active, said: βIt is so important to remind people to stay safe near water, especially at this high-risk time of the year. We are delighted to be involved with Drowning Prevention Week and helping to promote messages of water safety.β
