A MAN is in a serious condition following a daylight stabbing attack in a park.
Thames Valley Police (TVP) closed off The Brocas in Eton on Wednesday following the attack, which happened at around 4.30pm. The victim, a 25-year-old man, was travelling on a boat with a group of friends near to Windsor Leisure Centre and Alexandra Gardens. The boat was approached by a larger boat with a group of “youths of mixed ethnicity” aboard. An assault took place, and the 25-year-old man received multiple stab wounds to his body, jaw, and neck.
The victim was rushed to hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
One woman, who did not wish to be named, said she saw the victim running out of the park, and into an alleyway in Brocas Street, ‘covered in blood’ from a head wound. She said he collapsed at the scene. The mother said she saw it happen with her young daughter.
Police dogs were brought in to search the park, which was re-opened before 8pm. An alleyway between Brocas Street and the park was taped off by TVP.
Det Sgt Dean Brown said: “It was a busy day along the river and we believe many people may have witnessed this assault. We are asking anyone who may have seen this incident or who may have mobile footage of those involved between 3.30pm and 4.45pm to please call 101 quoting reference 43180116366.”
It is understood that there was no link between the stabbing and another stabbing in Langley, that happened the same day.
