MORE than 100 people enjoyed a day of cycling fun in Finchampstead last week.

My Journey Wokingham hosted the event at the FBC Centre, in Gorse Ride North, on Thursday, April 5, where children and adults could try out riding different bicycles, including balance bikes, recumbent tricycles, and an electric bike.

More than 48 bikes were loaned out during the day for individuals to give cycling a go and another 33 people brought their own bikes along for the ‘Doctor Bike’ surgery and security marking.

Attendees also enjoyed a bike-themed treasure hunt. could have a go at making smoothies using a pedal-powered smoothie bike, and a puncture workshop was on-hand to help with any repairs.

Jill Bissell, Wokingham Borough Council’s cycle training co-ordinator said: “There’s huge demand for cycling training, particularly for children, in the borough so it was brilliant to see such a great turn out to our Easter bike bonanza. We’ve already had some great feedback, with many parents saying that their children are now cycling independently, which is fantastic.”
