A MURDER investigation has been launched after the victim of a Bracknell bus stop assault died in hospital.

Miroslaw Januszkiewicz from Bracknell was rushed to John Radcliffe Hospital with 'life threatening injuries' after being viciously attacked in the early hours of April 10.

The incident took place at the bus stop on London Road, Bullbrook between 2am and 3.45am near the BP petrol station and the Honda Garage.

Paramedics attended the scene where the 42-year-old victim is believed to have suffered a 'serious head injury' as a result of the assault.

A 28-year-old man from Reading has since been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and will remain in police custody.

A scene watch will remain place while detectives and forensic experts continue to investigate the incident.

Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses following this despicable attack.

Senior investigating officer, detective chief inspector Andy Howard said: "We continue to investigate the circumstances of this incident in which a man has sadly died.

"Mr Januszkiewicz's next of kin have been informed and we are supporting them with the help of family liaison officers.

"We are continuing our appeal for witnesses.

"We are asking anyone who was driving along London Road on Tuesday, particularly between 2am and 3.45am who may have information or dash-cam footage to please come forward.

"Additionally I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed a man being assaulted in London Road or seen the victim lying injured to please come forward.

"A scene watch remains in place in London Road, and is likely to remain in place until tomorrow."
