AMBULANCE services will now be taking cuddly toys with them to hand out to scared children in the event of an emergency after a generous donation.

The Ascot Rotary Club donated the toys to the Bracknell Ambulance Station with the hope that they can be used to reassure scared children in event of an emergency.

Hugo Winkler, President of The Rotary Club of Ascot, confirmed they had given over the toys.

He explained: “Members of the Rotary Club of Ascot went to the Bracknell Ambulance Station this week to hand over 100 cuddly toys.

The toys are part sponsored by Sunningdale Waitrose ‘Community Matters’ programme and The Ascot Rotary Club and are placed on the ambulances in the Bracknell and Ascot area.

“Club President Hugo Winkler, organiser Tony Love and chair of the Youth Activities, Gail Robertson, were in attendance. The ambulance service reported that the toys are really being appreciated by the children who receive them in the unfortunate event that any child has to be transported by the ambulances through injury or trauma.

“The Rotary Club would also like to thank the public who supported the green token collection at Waitrose this year to enable and help with the purchase of the toys. Thanks also to the station manager John Pocock and all of the staff from the ambulance service for the sterling work that they do, day and night, within the community.”
