BURGLARS threatened a shopkeeper and stole cash in a late-night robbery.

Two men forced their way into the Budgens on Ascot High Street before demanding money from the shop worker and searching the premises.

They took a quantity of cash before leaving the store, having entered at between 9:05pm and 9:15pm on Wednesday 8/11.

The first man is described as being black, in his late thirties, over 6ft tall and of large build.

He was wearing a hat, high visibility jacket and dark coloured trousers and boots, he had a dark rucksack on and was wearing gloves.

The second offender is also a black man in his mid to late thirties, but is approximately 5ft 3in tall, he was wearing a hat, dark coloured long sleeved top with the Nike logo on the back, dark coloured trousers, black boots and gloves.

The shop worker was uninjured in the incident and didn't require hospital treatment.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Chris Jamieson of Force CID based at Maidenhead police station, said: "We are investigating this robbery and are appealing for anyone who might have information to come forward.

"We are specifically appealing for a witness, who is a white man, aged fifty to seventy, who we believe walked into the shop briefly during the incident and then walked out again. We believe this man then walked into the Tesco store on the High Street.

"We are keen to trace this man as a possible witness because we are hoping he might have information that can help our investigation."
