NEIL BAKER has issued a rallying cry to get as many Slough Town supporters as possible to make the trip to Gainsborough Trinity and support The Rebels in the FA Cup this Saturday.

Slough journey to National League North club Gainsborough Trinity for a first round proper tie (3pm).

A huge crowd is already expected at The Northolme but Baker has urged Rebels supporters to travel in their numbers and make as much noise as possible.

The Slough joint-manager said: "John Porter and I went up to Gainsborough on Saturday to see what we will be up against and, if we didn't already know, we're in for a very tough game against a very together side who are now unbeaten in seven matches having won five and drawn two.

"It sounds as if it's going to be a very big crowd this Saturday and they have already pre-sold over 500 tickets for a game that is not even all-ticket.

"For those of you who are on the fence about going, I urge you to get yourself up there and support the lads.

"It is a huge game and seeing all the Rebels congregated together in big numbers would be brilliant for the lads, and it's a proper old school ground which I'm sure you will all love.

"We will be playing in amber an blue as they play in blue, so those with the colours lets make sure we get seen.

"Whether you are driving up yourselves, getting on the Supporters Trust coaches, or going by train, it would be great to have your support, and if we can make noise that we've never done so before that would be class.

"Who knows where that will take us but we've had 20 competitive games this season and won 17, and since the start of pre-season scored 80 goals, so why not?"

Slough have progressed into the FA Trophy second qualifying round this season after a 4-1 win away at Kidlington on Saturday.

The Rebels made the journey to Yarnton Road with only one recognised striker due to injuries but it did not matter as a hat-trick from midfielder Matt Lench helped secure the victory.

Lench struck twice to give the visitors a clear lead over their Southern Division One Central hosts at the half-time interval.

Anaclet Odhiambo pulled one back for Kidlington after the break but man-of-the-match Lench struck again to restore the two goal-lead and complete his hat-trick with nine minutes remaining.

Striker Manny Williams added a fourth goal, his eighth of the season, for Slough in the first minute of time added on.
