A 38-year-old man who grabbed a 12-year-old girl's ankles as she was getting changed at Windsor Leisure Centre has been convicted of sexual assault.

Mohammed Rizwan Anwar, 38, of Concorde Way, Slough was found guilty at Reading Magistrates Court on Tuesday, September 26.

He was also convicted of attempted sexual assault.

On April 9 between 2pm and 3pm he was at the centre in Stovell Road when he grabbed the ankles of the 12-year-old girl while she was in a cubicle getting changed.

Three days later on April 12 at the same time he attempted to grab a 16-year-old girl who was changing in a cubicle in front of him.

He was charged with both offences on April 13.

Anwar will appear at Reading Magistrates' Court on October 21 for sentencing.

Following the court appearance, PC Rupinder Gill of the Investigation Hub based at Maidenhead, said: "Anwar had specifically targeted two young girls on separate occasions. The fact that he has been found guilty of these two offences is an excellent result.

"Thames Valley Police would like to ensure the community of Windsor that we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure offenders who target the most vulnerable in our community are brought to justice."
