A CARE team has completed a mammoth trek to raise thousands for an Alzheimer's charity.
Team members at Alexandra Grange Care Home in Wokingham took part in a 26-mile trek and raised £3,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Andrina Andrews, Ruben Hidalgo, Chally Chilimboyi, Kayleigh Barrie, Jasmine Goddard, Kerry Catchpole, and Richard Freeman took part in the Stonehenge trek to raise funds for the specialist dementia charity.
The team at the residential and dementia care home hiked around South Wiltshire, taking in the British countryside by hiking up the steep chalk downs and walking through ancient ground works and burial grounds.
Dementia Care Lead Andrina Andrews, who initiated the walk, said: “We wanted to take part in this amazing challenge to help make a difference to those individuals who are living with dementia, as well as creating further awareness of this life-limiting disease and help individuals to never feel alone.
“The 26-mile trek was very challenging physically and mentally. As a team, we supported each other and despite the pain and blisters we made it to the finish line. This was an amazing lifetime experience, we gained new friends and raised a great amount of money for a worthy cause!”
