A popular football club is holding an open day to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity which supports sick or injured military men and women.

The event at Burnham Football Club in Wood Road has been organised by ex-navy paramedic Don Ryder. It is on Saturday, August 26 and will run from 1pm until 11.30pm.

The day will include a football match between Burnham and a visiting club.

There will be all the fun of the fair with face painting, stalls, balloons and raffles - as well as visits by the fire, police and ambulance services in their vehicles.

A live DJ in the evening and an auction including some signed premier league shirts will add to the excitement.

Mr Ryder said: "The club also hopes to attract new members during the day.

"I would like to thank all the companies who have generously donated."

Tickets are £12 for a family of four, £8 single, £6 OAPs or under 16s.

You can get tickets on the day or contact Mr Ryder on 07770 721101.
