Datchet could face substantial changes under the proposed Borough Local Plan.

But it will be years before they kick in.

Windsor and Maidenhead's borough plan is progressing through the consultation stages - while the accompanying and newly published infrastructure delivery plan includes plans for substantial extra housing in Datchet.

This will mean a remodelling of the junction at the entrance to the green in the centre of the village.

The new homes in the village could also necessitate a new bypass to run behind Churchmead School through the proposed housing sites bordering on the M4, merging with Slough Road beyond the village centre.

Extra primary school provision is expected to be required - possibly leading to building within the Churchmead site.

But the IDP has indicated most of the expected new homes will not be built until 2022 - spreading over an 11 year period, putting the changes well in the future.
