My top tip is to make the most of the good weather while it lasts, and get outside. It's always fun to take day trips, to a lake or the beach and eat copious amounts of ice-cream. Always be careful not to over exert yourself though, and it's vital to remember sun cream and drink a lot of water, whatever you're doing.

Get your friends together, buy some drinks, a throwaway BBQ and all the food ingredients you require and head to the nearest green space preferably with shade for the burn-easy people among you. For the pushing-the-boundaries friends maybe add some portable speakers to the mix for some easy living tunes i.e. Bob Marley and The Beach Boys. Avoid: trains/tubes/basically any public transport.

The sad events in London have cast a shadow over all of us and my heart goes out to all those in distress as a result of these events. The current hot weather is great as long as you do not have to work out in it so, as a pensioner, I am lucky. I enjoy a few things in this heat cold beer, ice creams, a big rotating fan and sitting in the shade watching my runner beans and peas grow. We get so little very hot weather in this country that we should take full advantage of it, it will soon be pouring with rain again. I am off to Achill Island in Ireland for a short break soon and if previous experience is any thing to go by it will be wet and windy. The stout, however, will be brilliant.
