RETAILERS part of The Lexicon spoke to more than 100 people about future careers in hospitality and retail available at the multi-million-pound shopping complex.

Rob Morris, general manager at Bracknell Regeneration Partnership said: “With less than five months to go to opening, many of the retailers have started their recruitment programmes so the event was a perfect way for local people to hear more about careers in retail and hospitality.”

The Lexicon Employment Pathway is a programme designed to raise awareness of recruitment opportunities for the new shopping and leisure venue, which will create in the region of 3,500 jobs, spanning all areas of retail and hospitality.

On June 7, a jobs fair will take place at The Grange Hotel, where people can chat to retailers and restaurateurs to learn more and apply for jobs.

The programme is being implemented by business engagement specialists Learning to Work, a not-for-profit organisation, facilitating links between occupiers of The Lexicon and the local community.

Victor Nicholls, assistant chief executive at Bracknell Forest Council, said: “The Lexicon will bring 3,500 jobs with it, which is a great boost for the Bracknell Forest economy. I’d encourage anyone thinking about a new job to go along to the fair on June 7 to find out what exciting opportunities are available in our new town centre.”
