THREATENING behaviour involving a woman and a teenager saw the pair arrested in the town centre.

At around 9pm on Saturday, March 18 a 28-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl were involved in an ‘altercation’ outside The Point, police said.

Both were arrested at the scene on suspicion of a public order offence, and bailed until next month while police continue with their investigation to establish exactly what happened.

Investigating officer, PC Darin Stone, of Bracknell Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “An investigation into the incident is ongoing and a number of enquiries are being followed up.

“We would ask that anyone who witnessed or may have footage of the incident to come forward and contact us on 101.”

A spokesman for the force said in addition the Neighbourhood Policing Team is aware of an increase in anti-social behaviour.

Sgt Sham Dhotar, said: “We are working with our partners in order to reduce anti-social behaviour in Bracknell.

“Last month the neighbourhood team ran an engagement and problem-solving operation in the town centre with a view to targeting anti-social behaviour.

“A dispersal order was put in place for the town and 23 people were given direction to leave notices over the period. Anyone who breached this direction to leave was arrested or dealt with for the breach.

“Anyone under the age of 18 who was given a notice was followed up with a visit from their local neighbourhood officer and provided with some education in relation to how their behaviour in the town was effecting the local community.

“A number of these youths have now been referred to the Youth Offending Service with the consent of their parents or guardians for further education.

“The neighbourhood team will continue to patrol the town centre over the weekends and plan to conduct another operation to further target and minimise anti-social behaviour in the lead up to and over the Easter holiday.

“We will not tolerate anti-social behaviour and related crime and will deal with the offenders robustly. We encourage anyone witnessing this sort of behaviour to report it on 101 or 999 in an emergency.

“In the longer term we are working with our partners to come up with less intrusive ways to monitor and deal with anti-social behaviour in the area.

“We understand that not everyone who spends time in the town centre is involved in being disruptive and unruly, we are aware that the vast majority use the area without issue.”
