People living in Colnbrook must wait till next week to find out whether Heathrow is likely to be allowed to expand onto their doorstep.
But one village tradition is carrying on as usual, as rehearsals for the Christmas pantomime get underway.
The drama group Colnbrook Amateur Stage Theatre (CAST) is presenting Mother Goose this year.
The show will feature veteran CAST members alongside newcomers and members of CAST Academy, the group's youth section.
It is being directed by another newcomer to the group, Debbie Clutterbuck.
The show features everything you expect in a pantomime - a villainous squire, a goose who can lay golden eggs and a doomed attempt to wallpaper the dame's house that has to be seen to be believed.
A predatory spider stalking Mother Goose and her friends also guarantees some prime audience participation and of course, there will be a community song for everyone to join in with.
The show will be performed in Colnbrook Village Hall, Vicarage Way, from Wednesday, December 7 until Sunday, December 11.
The CAST box office number is 07894 579177 or e-mail: boxoffice@cast-online.org.uk
