THE M4 was closed and a motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after a crash this afternoon.
A car and the 58-year-old motorcyclist collided travelling westbound between Junctions 10 and 11 at around 5.30pm.
The motorcyclist was left with a serious injury around his pelvis.
The motorway was closed westbound as emergency services rushed to the scene and briefly closed eastbound so the air ambulance could land on the carriageway.
A spokesman for the South Central Ambulance Service said they sent an ambulance, a rapid response and an air ambulance.
"The call came to us at 5.32 this afternoon," he said. "It was reported as a road traffic collission between a motorcyclist and a car.
"A 58-year-old man suffered serious pelvic injuries. He was conscious and breathing.The air ambulance landed at 5.55pm."
Highways England warn traffic delays will continue into the evening.
