A WOMEN'S social group enjoyed a trip into London to visit an iconic location.

Slough Meet and Mingle group visited Buckingham Palace last week after being invited on a tour by the Royal Trust.

The guided tour of the Queen's residence featured 54 members of Meet and Mingle, with the event organised as part of the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations.

The ladies visited the chambers and state rooms of the palace in London, as well as an exhibition showcasing the wardrobe of clothes worn by the Queen over the last 90 years.

Aksa Marshall, the group's founder, said: "It was really interesting and a great opportunity for our Meet and Mingle ladies. Not many people have been inside the palace and we were given a tour.

"We were very well looked after and it was an honour to see the palace and all of the exhibitions to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday."

Meet and Mingle is a voluntary, non-profit charity organisation, founded in January 2013. The group was established for women in the community to help build self-esteem, encourage mental, physical, emotional and social well being, and to build friendships with other fellow ladies in the community.
