PRIMARY school children had a right royal knees up for the Queen’s official 90th birthday celebrations.
Dressed in red, white and blue, pupils at St Bernard's Preparatory School, in Hawtrey Close, Slough, shared cake and sandwiches on the lawn in the sunshine as part of the royal celebrations on June 9.
The afternoon was filled with lots of fun thanks to quizzes prepared by the pupils, tracing British history since the start of the Queen’s reign.
Nathan Cheeseman, headteacher, thoroughly enjoyed the cupcakes.
He said: “The children had a ball whilst learning about British history and British values!
“The aim has been to recreate that community feeling whenever the Queen has a big event and street parties take place.”
The celebrations finished with awards and a rendition of the National Anthem.
The children all received a special commemorative coin to take home and keep safe as a forever reminder of the special day.
