A PUB is hoping to dish up a cash boost for Macmillan Cancer Support with a number of fundraising activities.

The Greene King team at The Kings Head, in Lower Cippenham Lane, Slough, is making a refreshing change to their normal week by holding an event every day for seven days in the hope of raising £1,000 for the charity.

The events, which started on Monday, range from children’s parties, to fancy dress events, from quizzes and raffles to senior tea parties as well as an Ann Summers party for the ladies and a Mexican-themed night.

Tracey Gregory, manager of the Kings Head, said: “We held some fantastic events for our Macmillan fundraising drive last year and with some very generous support from the locals it was a huge success. We’d love to be able to the same again this year.

"We would like to invite all of the local community to support us in this amazing opportunity to help a very worthwhile charity.”

The event is part of a new partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support that will see Greene King teams fundraising throughout the UK for the charity.

Rachel Gascoigne, partnership account manager at Macmillan said: “It’s great to see staff at the Kings Head throwing themselves into their fundraising for Macmillan. It’s events like these that really add up and make a difference to people affected by cancer. I am sure this is one of many fabulous fundraising activities to come from Greene King this year.”

Mrs Gregory added: “The team at the pub are right behind our partnership with Macmillan. Everyone knows somebody who has been affected by cancer, whether it is a friend, somebody in their family or a colleague - it really is a great cause and a great way to involve the local community.”
