A 22-year-old motorcylist was seriously hurt in an accident at London Road, Langley on Monday.

The accident happened soon after 5.30pm and also involved a car.

A specialist paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance were called to the scene soon after 5.30pm.

The Air Ambulance arrived soon after and took the injured man to St George's Hospital, Tooting. His leg injury was later described as 'life changing'.

The accident brought London Road to a halt for almost two hours.

One driver said: "When I pulled onto London Road towards the M4 on my way home from work, it was 6.15 and we barely moved for a whole hour.

"By the time traffic actually moved past the crash site it was around 7.20 - that's how bad it was.

"We were moving like snails and many people had already turned back to use a different route."

Police and firefighters also attended the scene.
