A HATCHBACK was found dumped and torched in Great Hollands Road last night, sparking an arson investigation.
Neighbours initially thought someone was stuck inside the flaming Volkswagen Golf when they raised the alarm at around 9.30pm yesterday.
However no one was injured and the car had been set alight from the inside deliberately.
Firefighters doused the blaze using a hose reel and breathing apparatus and have since passed the investigation over to Thames Valley Police who are treating it as arson.
Tim Weekes, watch manager at Bracknell fire station, said: “It had been abandoned with the licence plates taken off and torched from the inside.
“Two ladies who called it in thought someone was trapped inside it because the headlights were flashing away but it was just the car going.”
