A PROPERTY has been closed after reports of persistent noise, intimidation and threatening behaviour.

A property associated with persistent anti-social behaviour (ASB) in Slough has been closed for three months following a court hearing yesterday.

Using powers under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, Thames Valley Police, in partnership with Slough Borough Council and other agencies, was granted a closure order at Reading Magistrates’ Court yesterday for an address in Whittaker Road, Slough.

The closure order will remain in place until May, 4 2016.

The closure order follows a closure notice served on the property on Thursday.

Insp Jon Stanley, who oversees the north sector neighbourhood in Slough, said: “The Slough neighbourhood policing team successfully applied to Reading Magistrates’ Court for a closure order in respect of an address in Whittaker Road, which was granted under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 yesterday.

“This was in response to increasing reports of noise, disruptive behaviour and intimidation caused by visitors to the address, often overnight, seriously affecting the lives of other residents.

“The closure, which is effective for three months, will allow the tenant to remain but will prevent third parties using the address. If local residents witness any further suspicious activity at the address they should call TVP immediately.”
