MORE than 200 pupils across a borough took part in a sports event, striving to achieve the highest personal best.

A total of 205 children in 16 teams from 15 different primary schools across the borough took park in an Infant Legacy Event - promoting sport among children in Years 1 and 2 - which was held at The Centre on the Farnham Road, Slough on Tuesday, November 10.

Laura Goodall, school games organiser, said: "Every child competed in eight different activity stations twice. On each station they'd try to beat their own time from before."

The pupils had things like balancing challenges, relay races and co-ordination tasks they had to complete, all being run by volunteers from the Royal Holloway, University of London, and Year 10 sports leaders from Langley Academy.

Miss Goodall said: "To see so many infants and schools involved was brilliant.

"It was wonderful to see the students delivering events to the younger children. Without support from the sports leaders we wouldn't be able to do it - they are an integral part."

The team from Lynch Hill Primary School won gold with the highest personal best and the team from Cippenham Primary School were runners up.
