A CHURCH held its first ever craft fair as a way of raising money and inviting in new members.
Langley Free Church, in Trelawney Avenue, held a craft fair offering lots of hand made items and delicious home made cakes on Saturday.
Chris Wheatley, one of the organisers of the fair, said: “We hold a monthly craft afternoon for church members who like making things as a hobby. We knit, crochet, make cards and jewellery and ea t cake and drink tea.
“We want to bring people in – it’s about inviting people in.”
Stalls at the event offered light-up hand painted Christmas houses by Janey Jangles, pop up cards created by ‘Mrs C’, key rings, bows from Honey Bow Bow, photo holders and decorations.
Mrs Wheatley added: “We’re like a family [at the church].
“In this day and age there is a lot of stress.
“To be able to sit and sew or crochet you can just switch off.”
