REPTILES, farm animals, pancakes and face painting were all part of a fun day for young children in Datchet on Friday.

The Royal Borough’s children’s centres came together to host a family fun day at the Little Cygnets Children’s Centre in Datchet St Mary’s C of E primary school for the second year running.

Serena Rumsey-Mitchell, children’s centre coordinator, said: “It was really successful last year, the feedback from the families was really supportive.”

Children were able to pet farm animals and hold reptiles, including snakes and lizards.

Mrs Rumsey-Mitchell added: “If you asked the children what their favourite part of the day was it would be the reptiles and animals, if you ask the parents it’s about having the chance to spend time with their children and watch them play.”

Jen Codrington, was at the event with her two children, Ava, three and Zac, 12 weeks and her sister-in-law Kate, nephew Seren, three and niece, Elsie, one. She said: “It’s really good, we didn’t expect so many activities for different ages."

“It’s hard to cater for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers.”
