THIEVES who stole war medals from a house in Hanworth are being sought by police.

The thieves smashed a patio window at the back of the house whilst the owners were on holiday.

The burglars took a Northern Ireland medal, a Cyprus medal, a Germany service medal and a long service and good conduct medal.

Between midnight on Sunday, July 7, and 2am on Tuesday, July 21 they broke into the house on Orion, Hanworth, Bracknell.

Each medal will be engraved with the victim's army number, 24203104.

Detective Constable Alex Hillan, the investigating officer, said: "The victim has retuned to find some very sentimental items have been stolen from their home.

"I would like to hear from anyone in the area at the time who may have noticed any suspicious behaviour near the property."
