AFTER receiving rave reviews from the critics and wowing audiences with their performances in Educating Rita last year, the team of Stuart Fox and Laura Doddington are back for this classic Neil Simon comedy, Last of the Red Hot Lovers.

Working with director Robin Herford – famous for commissioning and directing The Woman In Black – Stuart and Laura are delighted to be linking up again at The Mill at Sonning.

The year is 1969. And the sex revolution is everywhere. Or is it? Barney Cashman, fish restaurateur – that’s the reason he’s always washing his hands with lemons – is afraid he’s missing out on his new-fangled attitude to love-making. He’s 47. Time to take matters into his own hands. Time to have an affair.

What follows is a series of seductions in his mother’s apartment (because apparently a hotel room would be too sordid). First Barney meets the voluptuous Elaine Navazio, then kooky young actress Bobbi Michele, and lastly gloomy housewife Jeanette Fisher – who just so happens to be married to Barney’s best friend.

Last of the Red Hot Lovers is at The Mill at Sonning from March 17 - May 7.
