    This is a real coal mine, and one of Britain's leading museums. Enjoy a multimedia tour of a modern coal mine with a virtual miner in the Mining Galleries, exhibition
    at the Pithead Baths and historic colliery buildings. Prepare to be lowered 90 metres (300 feet) down the Big Pit mineshaft for the famous underground tour wearing the same equipment - helmet, cap lamp, belt, battery and 'self-rescuer' - used by miners. Take a seat in the miners' waiting rooms before embarking on your journey. Once underground, you will be guided (a 50-minute walk) around
    the coal faces, engine houses and stables in the company of a former coal miner who will explain the ways in which coal was mined and transported, and share some of his own experiences. Big Pit is situated in Blaenavon, South Wales.

While the guards are away you'll hear anecdotes from a life Under the Bearskin and visit the Guards Chapel and the Guards Museum which always impress. We emerge to see the guards march back into barracks before we break for lunch, which you may take in the pub or bring a picnic to enjoy in the park. Re join the coach for the short journey to The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace, view the working stables and state vehicles, with carriages and cars used for coronations, state visits, Royal weddings and the State Opening of Parliament including the Gold State Coach.
