COMPETITIVE corporations have been urged to test their athletic skills at an Olympic venue.

Dorney Lake, host of the rowing events at London, will welcome an altogether different calibre of rowers for the lake's inaugural Corporate Dragon Boat Challenge.

The event, scheduled for Wednesday, July 3, will welcome teams from businesses across the Thames Valley to do battle across the 200m course.

Carol Lester, director of challenges at organisers Gable Events, said: "It gives companies throughout the Thames Valley a unique opportunity to compete in one of the most rewarding and fun sports at a top London 2012 Olympic venue.

"As well as being a great event for companies to motivate staff and entertain clients, dragon boat racing is also fantastic for team building."

Gable Events anticipate more than 30 teams will participate.

Each team will compete in a minimum of three races, and the day will also feature a BBQ and bar.
